Metal Cutting Optimizer is a cut list optimizer and cutting calculator for sheet metal, plate, tubes, profiles and rebar. Plan layouts for plasma, oxy-fuel, laser, guillotine shear and saw with as little waste as possible. Plywood, chipboard and MDF are supported too.
"Sheets" tab – sheet nesting and cut layouts
- Sheet metal, plywood, chipboard, MDF: a cutting layout for every sheet with numbered parts.
- Cutting method: plasma, oxy-fuel, laser, guillotine shear, panel saw – with ready-made spacing and kerf values.
- For guillotine and saw, a step-by-step cut sequence: which strip to cut, which stop to set, how to cut the parts.
- Finds the most economical sheet size (2500×1250, 3000×1500, 2440×1220, 4×8 ft and more) with weight and cost.
- Weight of parts, waste and purchase based on material density: steel, stainless steel, galvanised steel, aluminium, copper, brass, plywood, chipboard.
- Price per kg or per square metre – the material cost is shown right away.
- Rotation can be locked for parts when rolling or grain direction matters.
"Profiles" tab – linear cutting
- Beams, tubes, angles, channels, rebar, timber, boards: fewest stock pieces and least waste.
- Kerf and end trim are taken into account, usable offcuts are shown separately from scrap.
- Metal weight calculator: round and square bar, flat bar, round and rectangular tube, angle, UPN channel, IPE I-beam, HEA and HEB beams. Total weight and purchase cost.
